Native AOT in .NET: Faster Startup, Lower Cloud Costs
Native AOT compiles a .NET app entirely to native code before it ever runs: no JIT, no warm-up time. Since August 1, 2025, AWS Lambda bills the init phase of zip-packaged functions the same way it bills regular execution time, turning what used to be a pure latency problem into a line item on your bill. We look at what Native AOT actually does, when switching pays off, where it simply doesn't work, and how the faster startup translates into real cloud cost savings.
